AI Integration in the Indian Workforce

Over the last year, an impressive 43% of India’s workforce encountered widespread AI implementation within their organizations. This pervasive adoption has spurred a paradigm shift in career aspirations, with 60% of all workers and a staggering 71% of Gen Z professionals acknowledging that acquiring AI skills can significantly enhance their career prospects.

Embracing Digital Skills in 2023

A remarkable two out of every three Indians express their intent to acquire at least one digital skill in 2023. At the forefront of their digital learning goals stand AI and Machine Learning, highlighting the demand for these cutting-edge competencies.

LinkedIn Membership Surges in AI Skills

LinkedIn’s report reveals a noteworthy trend across 25 countries: the number of LinkedIn members showcasing AI skills on their profiles doubled following the arrival of ChatGPT. This surge jumped from 7.7% between May and November 2022 to a remarkable 13% from November 2022 to June 2023 in India.

Soft Skills Shine in the Age of AI

In the context of AI, soft skills such as creativity and communication have gained paramount importance in India, as emphasized by the report. An astounding 91% of top executives have recognized the escalating significance of AI skills, surpassing the global average of 72%.

The majority of Indian professionals concur that soft skills like creativity and problem-solving provide them with a valuable perspective on their work. Seven out of ten professionals believe that these skills enhance their overall performance.

Professions that stand to benefit the most from generative AI augmentation include software engineers, customer service representatives, and salespersons, according to the report.
